My Role
My Role
My role as a Product Design Intern was heavily focused on visuals, from creating engaging motion designs and animations to redesigning existing flows in line with Ventura’s new design system. I also worked on introducing new features aimed at enhancing user engagement and making the app more intuitive and visually appealing.
Interviews with students and teachers revealed a common challenge: navigation barriers hindering accessibility, making it difficult to find crucial academic resources efficiently.
After understanding the IPO process, I moved on to designing the UI with subtle UX tweaks to simplify navigation, enhance clarity, and make the experience more intuitive for users

Important Information Not Visible Upfront
Key IPO details such as company overview, financials, GMP, and subscription status are not visible directly on the main IPO cards. Users need to go inside an additional screen to access important stock-related information, increasing effort during exploration.

Knowledge Center
Knowledge Center
The Knowledge Center was created as a concept design to explore how Ventura could make financial learning more engaging. Since the team was working on developing a detailed course series called Beyond Basics, I used the existing Bazaar Basics videos as placeholders while designing the overall learning flow. Along the way, I also explored visual direction and layout ideas wherever possible, helping shape how the learning experience could feel visually cohesive and user-friendly.

Brainstorming
Brainstorming
During the ideation phase, I explored and tested different gamification approaches to understand what could work best for Ventura’s learning experience. I looked into gamification options, quizzes emerged as the strongest choice. They were simple, effective, and aligned well with the educational goal of reinforcing concepts immediately after each video.

To stay aligned with the overall experience I wanted to build, I first mapped out a simple screen flow. This helped me visualize the user journey end-to-end, identify the key interaction points, and plan how each screen would connect before moving into detailed design.

What's New Section
What's New Section
Many users were not aware of the new features and enhancements introduced in the app, which led to low adoption and underutilization of key updates. To address this, the goal was to increase awareness and engagement by making these updates more visible and interactive. The proposed solution was to introduce a dedicated “Story Section”, an engaging, scrollable format that highlights new updates in a simple, visually appealing way, ensuring users notice and explore them.
Concept Ideations

For the “What’s New” feature, I went through multiple rounds of ideation and brainstorming to explore different ways of presenting app updates effectively. The focus was on making the section engaging yet intuitive, ensuring users could easily discover new features without disrupting their overall experience.

The “What’s New” section was later redesigned to align with Ventura’s new design system, adopting a simpler layout that utilized space more efficiently. Unlike the first design, where a prominent area was dedicated to it, the new version integrated updates in a subtle way without disturbing the overall app design.

Hide-Unhide Feature
The Hide/Unhide feature was designed for the portfolio summary section to give users more privacy and control over their financial data. With this option, users can quickly hide sensitive values such as total investment or portfolio worth when viewing the app in shared or public spaces, and unhide them when they want full visibility.
